Time to visit Japan

Hello, all: Sorry for not posting in so long. Just a brief note to say that another painting has moved from a private collection to a public museum. Always good news. Peasant Woman Laundering can now be found at the Hikaru Museum in Takayama, Japan. A lovely early painting from the Nuenen period--unusual for its brighter colours.

I visited Takayama years ago and remember it as a wonderful city. I'll have to visit again and see this lovely painting.

Good news for Coloradans

The new year brings good news for people living in the Centennial State. A public museum in Colorado has acquired its first Van Gogh work:

Edge of a Wheatfield with Poppies

Visit the Denver Art Museum to see this lovely work from Van Gogh's Paris period.
